Cold In-place Recycling with Cement

Reciclado in situ con cemento (1)

Cold in-place recycling of road surfaces using cement is a technique used to transform a deteriorated road surface into a new base layer of notable structural capacity, taking advantage of the road itself as a source for aggregates.

Compared to other rehabilitation solutions, recycling road cement allows us to take advantage of deteriorated layers, thereby recovering and even improving its bearing capacity; it also provides the material obtained from the recycling process physical-mechanical characteristics adequate for the infrastructure’s level of service. The overall result is a much more durable road that is more resistant to water and erosion.

This technique can be applied in a broad spectrum of projects, including all types of roadways, from highways to streets to secondary roads, and paved surfaces, for example in airports or industrial parks.

In-place road recycling with cement is closely tied to the concept of sustainability. This technique provides important technical and economic benefits, in addition to all the environmental advantages involved with reclaiming existing aggregates: no need to open new gravel pits or over-exploit current ones, while also eliminating the need for dumping sites. We have to remember that roadways are the largest source of aggregates in the country with no environmental repercussions.

This technically-proven approach to rehabilitation has been shown to be competitive and cost-effective, and, of course, far more respectful of the environment than any other conventional rehabilitation technique.
